Relationship Qualisteelcoat, ISO 9001 and EN 1090
As EN 1090 addresses the party responsible for placing the product on the market, QUALISTEELCOAT offers coating shops the possibility of having their compliance with the relevant EN 1090 requirements assessed by an independent external body. The requirements of EN 1090 are largely covered by the QUALISTEELCOAT Specifications, with the exception of a number of organisational and administrative aspects:
- an organisational chart including evidence of personnel qualifications and competence
- written procedures for order administration
- inspection of incoming goods
- a procedure for handling complaints.
In most cases, these aspects are already covered by an ISO 9001 quality management system. Consequently, ISO 9001-certified coating shops holding a QUALISTEELCOAT licence can readily demonstrate compliance with these additional requirements in support of the documentation required under EN 1090.
