A Qualisteelcoat certificate requires that the coating company works exclusively with approved chemical pretreatment processes and certified powder coatings or wet paints. Application
The scope of Qualisteelcoat includes bare steel, hot-dip galvanised steel, and metallised steel that has undergone chemical and/or mechanical pretreatment and is finally covered with a currentless primer, e-coat, powder coating, or liquid coating.
Inspection
A specific material (for coating or chemical pre-treatment) is tested in a testing laboratory and fulfilling the requirements of the present specification. The laboratory is accredited according to the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories set out in ISO/IEC 17025.
Assessment
The current technical specification describes the testing process and acceptable critical values for the test results. Testing is carried out by the accredited laboratory.
Approval
The supplier only receives a Qualisteelcoat approval after a successful testing in relation to the selected coatingsystem. This approval is valid for 2 year and only for the selected coatingsystem. It can be prolonged after a new testing procedure. For each different coatingsystem, a new approval is required.
